As part of Toyota GB’s ongoing fundraising for The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association), a team of 6 cyclists from AND-E and Toyota Insurance Services UK (TIS UK) will join 45 other Toyota colleagues on a five-day, 420-mile bike ride to raise money for the charity.

The 51 riders from Toyota GB, Toyota Manufacturing UK, Toyota Financial Services UK, KINTO UK, AND-E and Toyota Insurance Services UK will depart from Portsmouth on 24th June, visiting Toyota sites across the UK and the MND Association’s headquarters in Northampton on their way to the finish line at the AND-E offices in Newcastle on 28th June.

AND-E (Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Europe) and Toyota Insurance Services (TIS) UK are key strategic partners for Toyota’s insurance solutions. Participation in the MND Bike Ride underlines the collaborative partnership between the organisations.

“Everyone involved in this challenge is both excited about the ride itself, and immensely proud to be working with colleagues from across Toyota GB to add to the fundraising efforts”, explained Jason Milton, CEO of Toyota Insurance Services UK. “We are hard-wired into Toyota’s ambition to create safer, more connected and sustainable mobility for all and our participation in this ride perfectly illustrates how well we all work together to achieve the same end-goals.

“MND is a devastating disease, for those living with it as well as their family, friends and carers. Indeed, the very sad news of the death of Rob Burrow CBE, brings into sharp focus how devastating the disease is for so many families. Every penny therefore counts in trying to help find a cure and care for those with this disease and we hope our efforts will make a real impact to the important work being done by the MND Association.”

Affecting up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time, MND is a rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. MND is life-shortening and there is no cure, but symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life. The ambitious fundraising target for 2024 of £300,000 to be raised by Toyota (GB), Toyota Financial Services, Toyota Insurance Services and KINTO UK through a range of charity challenges, will provide vital funds to allow the MND Association to continue its research, improve care, and provide support for people with the charity, their families and carers. Supporters can donate at JustGiving.

The 51 cyclists taking part in the ride include Scott Thompson, Toyota (GB) President and Managing Director, John Laing, Managing Director of Toyota Insurance Services Europe and Jason Milton, CEO of Toyota Insurance Services UK.
