Toyota Insurance Services makes strategic European appointments
New Managing Director appointed for TIS Germany and European Sales Director role created
Toyota Insurance Services (TIS), the centre of excellence for insurance products and services for the Toyota and Lexus brands across Europe has made two key appointments.
Former Managing Director of TIS Germany, Udo Jüngling, has been appointed as European Sales Director, a newly created role in the TIS Europe leadership team. Jessica Schnabel, formerly European Marketing & Customer Experience Director for TIS Europe, has been promoted to Managing Director of TIS Germany, taking over from Udo Jüngling.
Both appointments underline the focus of TIS’ parent company, AND-E (Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe), to continuously enhance its insurance solutions to provide a seamless customer experience for Toyota and Lexus owners. Both TIS and AND-E are focused on ensuring that every journey their customers take is protected, as well as maximising the vehicle lifetime value.
John Laing, Managing Director, Toyota Insurance Services Europe commented: “In their new roles, building on their extensive experience, Jessica and Udo will be pivotal in supporting our goal to deliver added value for Toyota and Lexus and continuing to build market penetration and profitability.
“Jessica Schnabel has led numerous Marketing and Customer experience initiatives both in Germany and across Europe that have helped Toyota and Lexus retailer network extend the customer lifetime value. Udo Jüngling has solidified the reputation of TIS as Toyota’s captive provider of insurance solutions in Germany, where our innovative connected products, such as UBI (usage-based insurance) and Full Hybrid Insurance, have positioned us at the forefront of the market. As a result, TIS has achieved multiple awards, highlighting our strategic alignment and commitment to Toyota’s vision.”
Jessica Schnabel has worked for TIS for almost two decades. She has largely focused on Marketing and Customer experience roles, working on strategies and campaigns in direct collaboration with various stakeholders of the Toyota community, including Toyota Motor Europe, Toyota Financial Services, and KINTO. She was instrumental in the creation of the innovative ‘Go Fun Yourself’ insurance proposition for young drivers launched with the Toyota Aygo in Germany in 2014. This campaign targeted 18-23 year olds, a segment where affordable car insurance is crucial. The results were impressive – a 30% increase in market share for young customers. Beyond product launches, Jessica spearheaded the development of digital customer journeys across the branch network of TIS Europe, simplifying the insurance experience for both Toyota/Lexus retailers and their customers. Most recently, she championed the integration of TIS motor insurance into a joint Toyota omnichannel platform, positioning insurance as a seamless and valuable part of the overall user journey.
Commenting on her promotion Jessica Schnabel said:
“I am tremendously excited to be taking over from Udo Jüngling to lead the strong team he has created. TIS Germany recently won the best manufacturer-affiliated car insurance award for 13 years in the prestigious AUTOHAUS VersicherungsMonitor survey, underlining the commitment the team has to delivering a first-class service. I am looking forward to building on their success to provide personalised insurance solutions that seamlessly integrate with the daily mobility needs of Toyota and Lexus customers in Germany.”
Udo Jüngling has worked in the automotive retail sector in Germany for more than 25 years. After studying automotive economics, he was Managing Director the Toyota and Lexus dealer association for more than 15 years before joining TIS 11 years ago when he was appointed Managing Director of TIS Germany. With his strong sales background, in the newly created position of European Sales Director, Udo aims to strengthen the connections between the TIS organisations across Europe, sharing best practice to deliver greater customer benefit and extend market penetration.
“My focus has always been on understanding market trends and strategizing how to best address them, working closely with the Toyota family. This new role will allow me to leverage that experience”, said Udo Jüngling. “Being an integrated part of the Toyota community is the foundation; learning from each of the TIS markets will help us to grow further in the coming years.”
